About Small Canvas, Big Impact

The Huntington Arts Council believes that the arts have the power to impact our lives on every scale. This year we are inviting artists to participate in Small Canvas, Big Impact. This unique fundraiser supports our mission of enriching the quality of life of long islanders with programs and services that address the needs and interests of artists, cultural organizations, and the community. Join us in making a difference, one tiny canvas at a time!

Small Canvas, Big Impact will comprise 10”x 10” canvases adorned by artists throughout our community. In a culminating ticketed holiday event, attendees will have the opportunity to take these pieces home an original piece of work of their choice.

Important Dates:

• Show runs: November 24th - December 18th, 2026
• Entries due: November 6th, 2026
• Drop off:
  • Oct 22nd - Oct 23rd (10 am - 4 pm)
  • Oct 27th - Oct 30th (10 am - 4 pm, 10/29 open until 7pm)
  • Nov 3rd - Nov 6th (10 am - 4 pm)
  • *Please note the Gallery closed Mondays*
• Artist reception: December 3rd, 2026, 5-8pm
• Fundraiser: December 18th, 2026

Entry Requirements: 

• Artist Bio: 2-3 sentence biography about themselves and what inspires them as an artist
• Artist Statement: Approximately 50-150 words about the message their art communicates or the inspiration of their piece. 

Rules:

• All work must be orginal to the entrant.
• Work cannot exceed the 10" x 10" canvas.
• Work can be mulitdimensional, but must be contained to 10" x 10".
• All medias welcomed. 

Liability and Insurance:

• Once artwork has been dropped off, it becomes property of HAC.
• Each piece of artwork will be used to raise money for HAC.
